Referrals & Fees

.

Medicare

Allison is a registered Medicare Clinical Psychology provider (PSY0001619738). In order to claim a rebate under Better Access Initiative (Medicare) you will need to make an appointment with your General Practitioner who will conduct an assessment. If you meet the relevant criteria (speak to your General Practitioner) you will be given a Mental Health Care Plan under the Better Access Initiative, which can provide Medicare funded access Psychology sessions. If you are claiming a rebate under the Better Access Initiative Allison is required to provide a report to your General Practitioner at session six and ten. This report only contains general information as well as any questionnaires completed and recommendations for future care.

Please make sure you bring to your first appointment the referral letter and Mental Health Care Plan so that you'll be able to claim the rebate.

Private Health

If you hold private health insurance with extras cover for psychology, you may be able to claim a partial rebate for your consultation instead of Medicare. The exact amount depends on your fund and level of cover, so it is best to check with your fund for a per session rebate figure.

Please note: You can only claim through Medicare or Private Health Insurance for each session and for abbreviated group therapy sessions private health rebates may not be applicable.

Fees and Payment

Individual consultations are 50 to 60 minutes in duration. As an Endorsed Clinical Psychologist, Allison's clients receiving care under the Better Access initiative are eligible for a Medicare rebate of $149.05 per session. Payment is processed securely by card (Visa or Mastercard; American Express and Diners are not accepted), with your receipt and Medicare rebate handled automatically. Let It Go Psychology is currently welcoming new telehealth clients across Australia.

Individual Telehealth Psychology Consultation: $330. Sessions following your initial consultation are booked as standard consultations at the same fee, and new telehealth clients are warmly welcomed.

Cancellation and Reschedule Policy

If you are unable to keep an existing individual appointment or would like to reschedule, Let It Go Psychology requires at least 24 hours notice, preferably 48 hours notice. The 24 hour notice is required as a courtesy to Allison and other clients who may require care. Appointments that are cancelled or not attended within this time period will be charged a cancellation fee equivalent to 100% attendance, as though you had arrived for the session and is non-refundable. This charge will not be claimable through Medicare.

Interruptions in Therapy

In the event of expected interruptions to therapy (e.g., vacation, long-term absences), Allison will discuss this with the client and provide a referral to another psychologist. In the case of unexpected interruptions to therapy (e.g., the psychologist is incapacitated through ill-health, injury or death), the receptionist will inform your general practitioner to make further plans for longer care.
